High-temperature mechanical responses of the polyimide at a high strain rate

Abstract Polyimide is one of the best super engineering materials in world at present, and it required to have high bearing capacity specific temperature strain rate because application environment. Therefore, compressive mechanical properties polyimide different rates (10 −3 s −1 –4000 ) temperatures (20 °C–350 °C) were researched. The experimental results show sensitivity rates. However, hardening decrease with increase temperature, even flow stress under dynamic compression lower than that quasi-static large strain. In addition, found cracks characteristics 4000 loading temperatures, which are tiny room deep wide due coupling thermal 350 °C.
